August 27th, 2016
James E. Wynne, Sr., of Chalfont, PA died on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Abington Hospice Warminster. He was 50.
He was the beloved husband of 24 years to Mary Wynne.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William and Veronica Casey Wynne and brother of the late William Wynne Jr.
Jimmy grew up in the Bustleton section of Philadelphia and was a 1984 graduate of George Washington High School. For the past 12 years Jimmy and Mary have owned and operated the Club House Bar and Grill in Newtown. Jimmy had a passion for cars and motorcycles. He collected classic cars and was a fanatic of custom Harley Davidson motorcycles. Jimmy will be dearly missed by all who have come to know and love him.
In addition to his loving wife, Jimmy is survived by his children; Devyn C. Wynne and James E. Wynne Jr., and his two brothers Michael Wynne of Bristol and Robert Wynne of East Norriton. He is also survived by his many sisters and brothers in law and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Michelle E. Garland of Maitland, Fla., formerly of Hilltown Township, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016. She was 35.
She was the beloved daughter of Robert and Patricia Hofstaedter Garland and dear sister of Brian Garland. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gerard and Elizabeth Hofstaedter.
Michelle was a graduate of Pennridge High School, Class of 1999. She received her A.B. degree from Rollins College in 2004 and her M.A. from the University of Central Florida in 2012.
In addition to her parents and her brother, Michelle is survived by her extended family, Alvin and Debbie Bumford, Steffany and Patrick McGee, Paul, Diana, Emily, Andraya and Matthew Hofstaedter, and George and Nancy Dickey.
Michelle's family will receive condolences from 9 a.m. until her funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 2, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown. Interment will be held in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.

Jane Louise Eastman (Fritzsche)

Jane Louise Eastman of Warrington, PA passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016. She was 70 years old. She was the beloved wife of Guy A. Eastman of Warrington to whom she was married for 47 years.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Rudolph Fritzsche and Gertrude Fritzsche of Bangor, PA.
Jane graduated from Bangor Area High School in Bangor in June 1964 and East Stroudsburg State Teachers College in East Stroudsburg, PA. She taught elementary school for several years while following her husband / naval officer around in his Navy career. She also worked for a number of doctors’ offices as a receptionist.
Jane was always a ray of light to her family and to all she met. She showed kindness and respect to everyone. At home she was always surrounded by her angels and pet birds. She loved decorating her home at Christmas to bring joy to the entire family. She enjoyed participating in her children’s’ activities in sports and school. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her beloved husband Guy Eastman, originally from Allentown, PA; she is survived by her 3 dear sons’; Timothy Eastman, Terence Eastman and wife Megan, Theodore Eastman and his wife Kim. Her 2 special grandchildren, Savannah and Mavryk. She is also survived by her sister Carol Quinn and her husband Bill Quinn a niece Laurie Smith (Don), and 2 nephews Timothy Quinn (Laura) and Kevin Quinn (Debra).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday August 31, 2016 from 11:00 AM until her memorial service conducted by Pastor Craig Lauterbach of the River of Life Church at 12:00 noon at Joseph A. Nancy W. Edden of Newtown, died peacefully Wednesday, August 25, 2016 at Manor Care of Yardley. She was 86.
She was the sister of the late Betty Ether.
Born in Abington, and raised in Wyncote, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Gretta (Lang) Worthington. Coming from a family of educators, she was an art teacher in the Neshaminy School District for over 15 years, retiring in the mid-1980s. She was proud to have illustrated anatomy and physiology books. She was a member of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and was interested in the history of Bucks County. She was an avid reader who loved to keep up with current events; and will be missed for her outspoken nature and quick sense of humor.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Donna Edden of Winston Salem, NC, John and Kathy Edden of St. Augustine, FL and David and Audrey Edden of Fairless Hills, PA and her sister Dorothy “Tim” Vrooman of Exeter, NH.
In addition, she is survived by her 5 grandchildren (Amanda, Alex, Elizabeth, Joseph, Cotter) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathryn P. “Kass” McPherson (Janice)

Kathryn P. “Kass” McPherson of Harleysville passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2016 at Grandview Hospital in Sellersville. She was 87.
Kass was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late John C. McPherson.
Born in Camden, NJ she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Irene J. Sullivan Janice.
Proudly raised in Haddonfield, NJ, Kass was employed as Executive Secretary to the owner of Campbell Soup, during which time she developed countless long lasting friendships.
Along with her husband and family, Kass lived in Philadelphia before later relocating to Furlong, PA and ultimately spending the last several years in Harleysville at the Birches at Arbour Square.
Kass had a thirst for knowledge. She especially enjoyed reading about Egyptian History and the Pyramids. She also excelled at crafting, including Macrame.
Above all else Kass’ family and friends were always at the forefront for her. Family gatherings for the holidays, summers spent at the beach on Long Beach Island, or simple quiet evenings at home, her devotion to those most important to her never waivered. She couldn’t get enough time spent with her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dear friends. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her 4 sons; John and Lynne McPherson of Perkasie, Gary and Lori McPherson of Wrightstown, Mark McPherson of Warrington, Glenn and Cathy McPherson of Barnegat, NJ. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Melissa, Stefanie, Christine, Jason, Kimberly, Adam; her 2 great-grandchildren: Ethan and Natalie; and her sister, Evelyn O’Brian and her cousin, Pat Janiszewski.

Gail K. Reed of Bensalem died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 60.
Gail was the beloved wife of 33 years to John J. Reed.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Norma Primrose Hinde.
Gail was a former resident of Philadelphia before moving to Bensalem in 1984.
Gail was an employee of the Bensalem Township School District for 15 years in the school library surrounded by one of her favorite things in life, Books.
She was an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams and attended games regularly.
Gail and her husband enjoyed traveling and most recently traveled to Alaska.
In addition to her beloved husband John, Gail is survived by her cherished children Scott Reed of Bensalem, Ryan Reed of Bensalem and Megan McGee and her husband Walter of Philadelphia. She is also survived by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Frederick and Alice Reed of Warrington and her brothers, Rick Hinde of Florida and Steven Hinde of Blue Bell.

Jules F. Hamburg, Jr. of Holland passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne.
Jules was the beloved husband of the late Lucille A. Hamburg.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Jules and Marie Bromley Hamburg and brother of the late Albert Hamburg.
A graduate of Dobbins High School, Jules served proudly with the United States Navy during the Korean War and went on to lead a long career as an electrician until his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland where he was a Grand Knight with Knights of Columbus, Raymond V. Hennessey Council 6145 and was also a member of the Archbishop Wood 4th Degree Assembly.
Jules was an avid gardener, train enthusiast and a die hard Philadelphia Phillies fan and he also played Pop Warner Football.
Most important to Jules was his family and he was totally devoted to his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Surviving are his children, Luanne Hamburg, Harry Hamburg and his wife, Donna, Julius Hamburg, Richard Hamburg, and Lisa M. Peyton and her husband, Michael. He also leaves behind his eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Shirley Tohanczyn, Marie Harold, Harry Hamburg.

William C. Christie of Buckingham, PA passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at his home with his loving wife and family by his side. He was 82 years old.
He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Frances Mitchell Christie and father of the late Theresa Christie.
Born in Philadelphia, PA William was the son of the late Alexander and Mae Kite Christie and brother of the late Nancy Cox and Robert Christie and is also survived by his sister Gloria Goodwin
Bill grew up in the Swampoodle neighborhood section of Philadelphia and attended Lincoln High School. He went on to lead a long and successful career as a salesman for Coca-Cola, until his retirement in 1997.
Full of life and always with a friendly smile, the number one priority for Bill was his family and he never waivered in fostering the value of family in his own children and generations down the line. Whether it was the yearly family vacation at the Jersey Shore, gatherings, picnics, the holidays, or simply cheering on the Eagles with his family by his side, Bill was never more happy than when he was surrounded by those he loved. He will be dearly missed.

Charles D. Hill Sr., a long-time resident of Chalfont, PA and business owner and entrepreneur, died on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at his home with his family by his side. He was 85.
He was the beloved husband of 61 years to the late Susan Rosanelli Hill, who passed away March 26, 2016.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edward Hill, Sr. and Martha Mazzeo Hill; father of the late Anthony and Timothy Hill; grandfather of the late Anthony Hill, Jr.; brother of the late Marian Hill Walters, and her husband, the late Robert Walters; brother of the late Edward Hill, Jr.; step-son of the late Elsie Stellar Hill; step-brother of the late Mary Stellar Marrow and her husband, the late Robert Morrow and step-brother of the late Carl Stellar; brother in law of the late Ernest Rodriquez.
Charles was a resident of Chalfont, Bucks County, PA for 62 years.
He received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy in 1954.
Charles was the founder and owner of Hill’s Cleaner, Inc., in Warrington, PA, formerly of Willow Grove, PA for 60 years. He and his wife fostered more than 50 children for Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services; two of which they adopted.
Charles was an avid fan and supporter of Central Bucks West High School Football team and other community high school sports teams. He was a member of the Philadelphia Moose Lodge since 1950.
He is survived by his children; Charles D. Hill, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Hilltown, Anna Marie Hill-Baran and her husband Walter of Chalfont, Judith Hill-Nixon of North Wales, Christina Stillwagon of Chalfont, Lisa Junod and her husband Kevin of Doylestown, Paul Hill and his wife Justina of Harleysville, Matthew Hill of Chalfont, his daughter in law Fran Goerlich of Glenside, his sisters and brothers: Virginia Hill Rodriquez, Robert A. Hill and his wife, Elizabeth, Phillis Hill Kelly and her husband, James, Gerald Hill and his wife Carol; his sisters-in-law Mary Ann Hill and Ida Stellar and his brother in law, Frank Rosanelli snd his wife Patricia. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren: Charles D. Donald R. Bertolini, Ph.D. of Newtown died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Chandler Hall on Sunday, August 21, 2016. He was 66.
Born in Manhattan, he was the son of the late Mario and Rose Conti Bertolini. Donald was the lifelong friend and beloved husband of 42 years to Maria Fazio Bertolini.
Dr. Bertolini was a proud and dedicated alumnus of Ithaca College class of 1971. His quest for knowledge motivated him to complete a master’s degree at C.W. Post College of Long Island University and a doctorate in Biology at Wesleyan University.
After completing his post-doctorate fellowship, Donald began working at Otsuka Pharmaceuticals as a research scientist. He went on to build his career with major companies such as Smithkline Beecham, Bayer, and ultimately retiring as an executive director from Bristol-Myers Squibb in 2010. His work often took him to cities all over the world which he thoroughly enjoyed.
His dedication to his work was second only to his love and commitment to his family. Donald enjoyed being a dad through his involvement in his son’s sports whether as spectator or as a coach. His love and devotion as a spouse was unselfish and unconditional. Donald will be greatly missed by everyone who has had the pleasure to know and love him.
In addition to his wife Maria, Donald is survived by his loving sons: Andrew and his wife Lauren of Pottstown, PA and Matthew of Secaucus, NJ.
