Condolences for
James P. Rhein, Jr. James P. Rhein, Jr.

Monday, January 14th | Comment by: Mariann Matarese & family

Our condolences to the Rhein family, especially to sweet Julia, who is in our son's fourth grade class. I will always remember Jim bringing Julia to my son's birthday party at the Brunswick Zone a few years ago. No one had to tell me he was Julia's dad; you could see the resemblance in those beautiful eyes. May Jim rest in peace, and may all his family continue to feel his spirit in the days ahead.

To the Rhein family, My prayers for your loss. Jimmy was one of my best friends, who I met in Charles Boehm High School in 1980. I was new to the school and he was one of the 1st persons to befreind me and that frienship lasted for 32 years......Always there when I needed anything. RIP, the world was a better place with you in it.
This poem was one I read in the 1990s, this is the origional poem with Jim's name in it.

Around The Corner, by Charles Hanson Towne.

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.

And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.

And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.

"Tomorrow" I say! "I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him",
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.

Around the corner, yet miles away,
"Here's a telegram sir," "Jim died today."
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Rainey, I am so sorry to hear about your brother. I know he was a special person because you all came from the same cloth. You and your entire family will be in my prayers and if you just need to talk I still have the same number. God-speed in comfort and strength
