I had the pleasure of having Professor Pernicone for numerous classes, as well as my senior thesis. I am deeply saddened by his passing, as he had an impact on my life as a student, and outlook. Drexel has a void in its history and politics department. RIP.

I facilitated Dr. Pernicone's session on Carlo Tresca at the NY Anarchist Bookfair a couple of years ago. He was quite cranky about the poor organizing, then warmed to the task once he got started. Coming from an Italian-American background, it was meaningful for me to know an Italian-American anarchist who was able to explain how radicalism was lost in the community. Dr. Pernicone blamed the Catholic Church and Generoso Pope. He was right. I mourn his loss and will remember him fondly.

I am so sorry for your loss, Dr. Nunzio Pernicone was one of my absolute favorite professors. He made me LOVE history, I only wish I could have taken more courses with him.
