Dear Kate-

I miss you.......You were a shining star in everyone’s lives around you. You were an amazing wife and mother; a wonderful daughter, sister, & aunt; and a trusted friend to anyone that knew you. You were one of the most loving mothers that I have ever known. You made Stephen’s childhood so filled with joy and happiness. You made everyone that knew you feel special. You thought of and did so many things for others that it is hard to count how many friends you had.

There was a reason that you and I got pregnant around the same time. Our kids have been best buds since they were babies and you & Steve have been such great friends to us. Since PBS started Camp together, a lot of my happiest memories are with your family. I remember you coming to visit when we brought Pat & Bella home, at the hospital when I had Charlie and again when I had Christian. You were one of the first friends to hold all of my children. We have had such great times and funny memories: in the beginning with gymnastics, playdates & Cross Keys on Fridays, following each other home to pick up the kids from Camp & talking on the phone at the same time (you calming me down when I would flip out about something at Camp), the shore, the pool at the Club, Phillies games, your house for Easter Egg Hunts & Christmas Eve, our house for New Year’s Eve, the Halloween party at the Club, Dutch Wonderland (where Bella threw up all over in the car & you didn’t even flinch), the hospital when you came over to help out after Pat swallowed the button, watching the kids chase fireflies for the first time, the kids playing dress up in our basement & putting on shows, listening to the boys talk about their crush on Katie (& Stephen kissing her on New Year’s), the Mother’s Day baseball game at your house, going to Dilly’s, doing the women’s bootcamp, the kids’ first day of school together, getting our nails done, you making sure that P&B could get to activities when I couldn’t take them (you were always calling me to offer before I would call you!), special events at Gayman (best homeroom mom ever!), you being my date for my anniversary dinner & the show in Philly, Charlie’s baptism, numerous birthday parties, dinner at the Plumsteadville where the old guy yelled at us for having too much fun, pumpkin & apple picking, the Hurricane Sandy sleepover, the unbelievable trip to Disney, the kids’ First Communions, and of course all of the kids’ sporting events………and there is so much more that is not jumping into my head right now. You would listen to me talk about anything. Thank you for always thinking of us. I know that I would tell you on occasion how much you meant to me, but I really want you to know that you were such an amazing friend.

Thank you, Kate. I will always love and miss you.

And to Steve, Stephen and your family, we will always be there for you.

- Tara

Kate's wonderful family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Kate was a great friend to me growing up. She was soo filled with love and compassion, even though I was such a moody little kid! It meant a great deal to me spend so much time at her house. I will always cherish that time in my life!!

Steve and Stephen

We want to send our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Kate and I were so excited the boys got to play together again on the same team this April at the Jamboree. Kate was one of the sweetest people I ever met and made those 5:45 Leaf games much more enjoyable because she was there to chat with us, and clam me down! She will be missed around the rink. Lots of love and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kate's family. We extend our deepest sympathies to Stephen and Stephen Jr. Kate was a wonderful person, friend and "big DG sis" to me at the 'burg. I wish we didn't live so far apart in these recent years. I know you are at peace now, Kate. Thank you for the gift of friendship and for always being there. You will be deeply missed. Suzanne
