Tim and Family,
It is always difficult and distressing to learn of the passing of a former
Student. It is even more difficult when the person was a part of the Hempstead wrestling family. Mary was always an outstanding person and will be deeply missed.
Tim, I know that with your faith in our Lord and the support of your family
You will meet all challenges. Our thoughts are with you.

Tim, yours is one of the nicest, God-oriented families we've had the real pleasure to have known. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you. Mary was such a sweet and kind person, always thinking of others and willing to help. Heart of gold is the phrase that comes to mind. We know your faith in God will get you through this most difficult time. God bless and keep all of you.
From some of your many friends at Our Lady of Victory

Dear Tim and family
My heart is heavy as I process the news of Mary. I now treasure, even more, the memories of my Washington Jr. High, Hempstead High School, and UNI adventures because so many include Mary. (Better known at that time as "Potts, Pottsey, Putz, Mares, or MaryandTim ...since one was rarely without the other!) Track, basketball 6 on 6, dances, learning to drive, swimming in PE, chemistry (yuck), football games, classes at UNI, sharing an apartment (Get up Putz, we overslept! Don't forget to steal some toilet paper from Coach Potts' house this weekend.) She oozed fun, energy, adventure, love, compassion, and that unique laugh. But, as much fun as we had, nothing was more important to her than her family, and you, Tim. Didn't she call you Kemosabe? Her partner, her friend? You two created and nurtured, what we all strive for in our lives. I've been out of touch with Mary, but it's obvious she continued to grow in love, faith and grace. I will miss Mary and cling to my memories, celebrating all she shared and taught me, and giving deepest thanks to The One who led me to share important years with her.
Prayers for you, Mary's family, but always SMILES for Mary.
Love, "V"
