Eva was the bravest person I've ever known. I met Eva at B.of A. We became friends right away. I loved how quirky she was. We laughed a lot and I was really glad she invited me into her life. A few times a year we would get together and talk about art and music and other stuff. She always knew everyone in every store in New Hope. She NEVER let the cancer define her as a person!
She chose to live as if it wasn't there. I can still see her in a restaurant in New hope with me.We sat down and she said "I'll be right back" and went over, bald head and all, to say hi to friends she hadn't seen in awhile. I don't think i could have ever been that strong.
Last Christmas I sent her a felt hat to keep her head warm and we laughed about it. She was unflappable and I loved her for it.
The last couple weeks I was thinking about her. I sent a couple texts and when she didn't answer I didn't worry because when the cancer came back sometimes it took her awhile to get back to me.
So on Monday I called and started leaving a message saying "Eva, we are doing lunch on the 15th" {sorry I'm starting to cry again and I can't see the keys} and Kevin picked up the phone and told me, and here we are. Eva I love you, I wish I hadn't missed you, but I know that you know I never forgot you. Put me in your blackberry calendar and we will meet again in another space and time.

We will remember Eva as someone who embodied the true spirit of an artist - who saw the world through different eyes and found joy in the small things. She was so kind to our dogs Opus and Mojo - and we loved how she would stop and get out of the car to give them a pat on the head as she drove through the neighborhood. We will miss you Eva - Rest in Peace
Kevin, we planned to join you for the service today but went to the other Fluehr funeral home. We hope to see you soon.
