"Mr.Sam" was a man with a cheerful heart. Children loved him and he always made everyone feel valued and cherished. Fortunate were the boys and girls he safely took to school and returned home each day. Always smiling and caring for the welfare of others. Sam, Peggy and their four dear daughters were a joy to us and our children. We ache for them and send our love. We will never forget any of you. You have enriched our lives. Thank you Kim, for your good care of your Dad. Alice Wetherill

We have many wonderful memories of Uncle Sam. Dad was truly blessed to have such wonderful friends in the Walker Brothers. We are so sadden to hear of your loss. May you keep the many memories of your father, grandfather and great-grandfather in your hearts always.

Tears flowed down my cheeks as I heard the news of Uncle Sam's passing. He and his brother, Uncle Nick, were like uncles to me. My childhood was wrapped around our visits to each other farms, with huge, delicious meals, laughter, and music.
Uncle Sam was a tremendous help to us on our Christmas Tree Farm. We valued his outstanding people skills. In the evening, he would serenade us with harmonica songs played with skill and love.
Dad cherishes his long-standing friendship with Sam and Clarence. Their fort, adventures, and love for each other was so special and honored.
Do I tell Dad? He is not well at 91, mentally or physically. This news will break his heart, as it did when Uncle Nick passed away.
I send my deepest sympathies to Sandy, Betsy, Sandy, and Kim in the loss of their beloved father. He will be missed but never forgotten.
