Marie had the most beautiful eyes. I don't think I've ever said that before, I just wanted you to know.

Mom is sitting by herself in the dining room at Luther Woods now. I've asked for another tablemate but I will miss the both of you there. Your devotion to your wife in coming every day for lunch was very visible, and I could see it was returned. You two were models of a happy marriage.
