In the spring of 1961, Andy taught me how to play the banjo. I lived in Baltimore at the time, and met him at a bluegrass festival taking place between Philadelphia and Baltimore. I spent a weekend with him at his home in Phili, and he spent a weekend with me in Baltimore. I lost track of him after that. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. He was an important and influential person in my life. I played in a bluegrass band for 17+ years because of him teaching me the banjo. kennethrholmes@msn.com

Sending my deepest sympathies to Jane and her lovely family. It was truly a pleasure to have met Andy 11 years ago when we moved into the neighborhood and became your neighbor. It is so nice to have such great neighbors! Andy always had a smile on his face and a friendly word when I saw him. He was a very kind and caring person. It was such a pleasure to be able to hear the music coming from your home when he was playing his bagpipes. I also remember when on hot summer days and the men would come to pick up the trash there Andy would be giving them bottles of water. What a kind and caring person! Andy, you will truly be missed. Rest in peace Andy! To Jane and her family, I hope your faith will guide you through this most difficult time.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wonderful family. I feel very blessed to have been able to care for you and Andy, these last few months. I will never forget his smile and laugh that made every thing alright.
