I feel so sad about Eileen’s passing. I will always be proud to have known her. I loved my class of 1976 at St. Agnes. Even though we had to move at the end of my Junior year to Texas, I always considered myself a graduate from St. Agnes. When I had to do my Senior year in Texas, I was miserable and missed my classmates from SAA. When you are lucky enough to get to know a girl named Eileen Phelan and even more lucky to get to call her my friend. I will always have great memories of Eileen. She was one of a kind. I believe that’s why the Lord took her home early. He needed to have another special Angel to help him be a guardian for all people. He knew she would be successful like she was on Earth.

When people say we “lucked out”, they overlook how much we invest of ourselves to hold on to what is precious. Lucky? Sure. Yet, it’s our vision, commitment and hard work that get us through the ups and downs. Looking back on all of that now, just like that “crash”, must seem like nothing more than a mere bump in the road.
You never did the covered write, but He always held her option. Eileen was deep in the money and He called her away from you. Though it’s never the right time to get assigned, even this was way too soon. I’m sorry.
I hope you will come to accept, and find consolation in, that your temporal loss is His eternal gain.
