Donna and family, So sorry for your loss. Doug was my first cousin. I was in his first wedding as a ring bearer, it was the first time that I wore a tux. I still have the wine glass that I the toasted with. He was so good to my father and my family. His father Dante (Dan) was a very talented man that could fix or do anything. He taught me how to develop black and white pictures when I was just a young man. I know that Doug paved his own way. Being a police officer, he put himself in harm's way every day. I have thought that after a car chase where he was injured it may have slowed him down a little bit. I had no idea his career continued and spanned over some 40 years. I am proud to say, he was my cousin. A good man, that did his best for his family, his country and his community by serving. He will be truly missed. I am sorry, that I can not attend and pay my last respects to you and Doug and his family as I will be unable attend due to a prior commitment. I send my love and prayers to the family.
