This is the way I will always remember Aunt Bobbie. We were visiting Grandpa Ernest Harrsch in Sheridan, Wyoming in May of 1968. I took this picture as she sat on the porch of the house. Living on different coasts, such visits were rare and cherished, even if sometimes we saw her in less than ideal circumstances. In this case, Grandpa Ernest was in failing health and would die just a couple of months later. And then there was the time when Grandma Katie Long was in a terrible car crash and we spent the better part of a summer at either the hospital in Idaho Falls or her home in Montpelier. My point is whatever the circumstance, Aunt Bobbie's presence always made things brighter, better. I will miss her humor, her forceful personality and her caring.
