Dear Crissy,
Crissy, How very sorry I am to hear you lost your husband so suddenly and tragically! I am a neighbor of Tamara Gross and we didn't realize we both know you. She told me she was very close with Joe and explained what happened and how if he only had a spleen, he'd be alive today. This must feel like some kind of surreal medical nightmare. I wish you could close your eyes and the whole thing could just be a bad dream and you would wake up and he would still be with you. (My mother, too, was in ICU in an induced coma for months, and it felt like that, but for whatever reason, God spared her. I don't know that we can make any sense of why God takes some and not others. Perhaps it was not his time and it was the fault of the Doctors who did not diagnose him correctly?) Your heart and your children's hearts must be cleaved in two. I send my most heartfelt condolences to you and your family and to Joe's family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you so much love!
