Adam was one of my best friends at Newtown Elementary. I remember the day I met him, i couldn't stop thinking about how much I wanted to befriend Adam and be so close. I wheeled him around school and sang to him every day. His smile and laughter when I sang to him always made my heart glow. I would take my time from my recess playing with my other friends to spend time with Adam in his classroom. In 5th grade when my father was really sick, there were times that I didn't want to go to school, but Adam made school worth going to because I knew his presence and smile would never fail to cheer me up. One day, the class was told to write a letter to someone special in our lives, and I wrote to Adam and told him how much I cared about him. The next day later, his aide, Sue, helped him write a letter back to me, with his name signed by Adam at the bottom. I thought it was so cool to have something from him, especially with his personal signature on it. I will forever treasure that letter. My thoughts go out to his family and friends who spent the last days with him, keeping a smile on his face. Adam will always have a special place in my heart and my heart will always be singing out to him. I love you Adam, rest in peace.
