I always thought he was a wonderful guy. He was my cousin, by marriage. His wife, Margaret (Peg) Her mother and my mother were sisters. Rest in pease, Ernie. I live in Florida but I lived in Levittown for 18 years and my 2 sons worked for Meenan Oil compny and used to go to their house at time to fix their air conditioner or oil heater, etc.

As we decorate the Christmas tree this year and in all years to come, we will pause before hanging the many ornaments our Uncle Ernie was quick to craft and quicker still to distribute. It will not be with heavy hearts but rather as season of joy as we reflect upon and quietly honor his lifelong commitment to family and friends, the community he cared for and the country he served. We will give thanks for the life he lived, the faith he quietly modeled, and the love he so freely shared. Simply to have known him was a gift that shall last a lifetime. The man was truly one in a million.

Uncle Ernie..I will never forget the great times at Promised Land, volley ball and "the fort" in the back yard plus all the good times with my cousins. To Joe, Bob, and Jim and families our deepest sympathy. Love, Gary and Patti

Mr. Haviland was always so kind to me. I always remember him kidding around with a twinkle in his eye.
