We had a privilege to work closely with Mahendra-ji and his loving family during Kargil, Gujarat Earth quake and 9/11 relief fundraisers in Indian American community. Mahendra-ji was a witty personality. As a younger family living in Philly area with our struggles as recent immigrants, he welcomed us and made us feel secure by his support and compassion. Behind his wit, he was a scholar and philosopher with deepest love for Hindu faith and Vedic philosophy. His social work drove from the basic belief "Service to humanity is service to God". He lived modestly and set an example of simplicity while his work demonstrated his core beliefs. With his departure, Indian American community lost an inspiring leader. May Lord Vishnu offer a lasting place and peace to him at HIS lotus feet and give strength to his family to bear this loss. Hari OM.
