Mrs. Hoff's influence on me extended far beyond the one school year I was privileged to have her as a teacher. The Kutz 6th grade team of Hoff, Harrington, Louz served as models of great teachers for my entire career as an educator - high academic expectations, no nonsense discipline, funny, caring and made learning and school so much fun!! I also appreciated Mrs. Hoff who caught me in an act of "following the crowd" and thanks to her "disappointment" and discipline - I never intentionally did stupid things to just fit in.
May she RIP and her family find comfort in hearing from all of us who were so impacted by her wonderful gifts and generous spirit.

Dear Aunt Beryl,
Some of my earliest memories as a child are with you, Aunt Marion and Nana. I use to get so excited to see you, running to give you a hug and knocking pies out of your hand! You meant so much to my mother, nana and brother. Your presence and love shaped the lives of two generations of Schondelmeyer's. Thank you for all the memories and always being as crazy as I was!
Love always,
Curtis
" What do you think has become of the young and old men?
What do you think has become of the women and children?
They are alive and well somewhere;
The smallest sprouts show there is really no death,
And if ever there was it led forward life, and does not wait at the end to arrest it, And ceased the moment life appeared.
All goes onward and outward. . . .and nothing collapses,
And to die is different from what any one supposed, and luckier."
