My condolences to all members of the Shields family. I did not know Tom personally, but my sister Phyllis was a good friend. I was a teammate of Andy and Eddie at Ryan. Even though I did not know Tom, whoever wrote the tribute did a great job of helping people like me know him. I would only add this: as someone who lost his dad long ago (he was 51, I was 22), try to spend most of your time remembering and appreciating his life and less on his passing. It took me a bit too long to learn that in my life. It sounds like Tom had a great life, filled with many laughs and friendships and loves. That is something to celebrate.

Our deepest sympathy to the entire Shields family. Don't really have the words to ease your pain, just know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sad to hear of Tom;s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Tommy for the last few years and learned a lot from him. My time with him was short but I truly will miss him. He was a great man and a great leader. My sympathies to the all who had the pleasure of knowing a man like Tom.

Dear Sue, I'm so sorry to hear of your husbands passing. I know there are no words I can say to make you feel better. I will pray that you and your family, your little girl will get thru this terrible time and with time you will remember good things. I am so sorry. Please know all you friends and co-workers at Fox Chase are thinking of you.
Love,
Rossana
