Digney Family,
As soon as I heard the names on the news report, I got a sick feeling in my stomach. Once it was confirmed that Shamus was my dear old friend's son, it just got worse.
Chuck, I just can't tell you how bad I feel right now. You were always one of the kindest people I knew. Although we haven't seen each other in years, suddenly I'm right back at your house in Holland, playing out back in the yard. Life was so simple back then...
Love and respect to you and your family at this most tragic of times.

To the Digney family,
My heart is heavy for the loss of this precious boy. Although I only knew Shamus for a short time at St. Bede's School. He made such an impression on me. His beautiful smile, sweet disposition and kindness towards others was unmatched. I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers.

The loss of your son and the other young men have touched so many people in our community. May your family surround you with love and give you the strength to endure this very sad situation. Your heart now carries the love into eternity. Mary Jane Heil

Digney Family:

We'd like to extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to you and yours on the unexpected passing of Shamus. I had the opportunity to have Shamus on my basketball teams at a young age (3rd grade)and most recently last spring in the Council Rock Basketball league. He was an outstanding player and young man.

May God bless him and keep him and bless all of you.

Sincerely,

The Newton Family (Bob, Jeannie, Patrick & Mackenzie)
