Bill and I worked together for many years. Our friendship continued after his retirement. He was special, always devoted to family, friends and his work. You could always count on Bill for his honest evaluation of people and situations. May he be remembered with love and kindness.
My condolences to the Gunst Family and his dear friends.

A few years ago, I received a call from "Mr." Bill Gunst. I hadn't talked to Bill in over 20 years. From that phonecall on, I spoke to Bill every other week over the last few years. It was great reconnecting with Bill and remembering the days we worked together. His memory and sense of humor were still strong and it was if we never skipped a beat. It was as if we were still working together at The Penn Center Inn. I was truly saddened when young Bill called me with the news of Bill's passing. I was truly saddened at the loss of such a great friend. I never met or knew a more ethical or morally correct person than my friend Bill Gunst. I will truly miss him. Sincerely, Bob Matticks, South Philadelphia
