Sallie J. Potts of Philadelphia died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook after a long and courageous battle with Breast Cancer. She was 77.
Sallie was the beloved wife of the late Edmund D. Potts.
Born in Cheltenham, PA, she was the daughter of the late Oswald and Mildred Andes Stockett and the sister of the late Betty Tickner, Dorothy Bergen and Susan Schubert.
Sallie was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia and has resided in the Somerton section for the past 49 years. Sallie worked at Chez Odette in New Hope in the 1960’s to 70’s, the Robinhood Diner in Southampton in the 1980’s, and most recently at Johnny Apples in Holland. In her younger years, she was an aspiring Ballerina and dreamed to be affiliated with both the New York City and Philadelphia Ballet. She has always enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family and friends creating everlasting memories. She will be sorely missed by everyone who has come to know and love her.
Sallie is survived by her two daughters, Sallie J. Quaintance and her husband David of Phila and Kimberly McGrath of Feasterville and her beloved dog Sugar. She is also the loving “Bruce” to her 4 grandchildren Nicole Potts, Kasi Milgrom, David Quaintance and Krystal McGrath and her five great grandchildren, Kenny, Kaitlyn, Devin, Faith and Rocky.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings, Tuesday June 5, from 7:00 to 9:00pm and Wednesday June 6 from 9:00am until her Funeral Service 10:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd. ) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
