John P. Fischer of New Hope, PA passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014, at Buckingham Valley Nursing Center, Buckingham. He was 77.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara R. Hofer Fischer for 56 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John P. Sr. and Margaret R. Hearne Fischer.

Mr. Fischer was a resident of Buckingham Springs for the past 13 years and formerly lived in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia for 40 years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. Until his retirement 20 years ago, he was employed as an insurance adjuster with Pennsylvania Manufacturers Insurance Company for 15 years and Vincent Insurance Adjusters for several years. In his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and taking trips to the casinos where he always liked dining out.

He will be deeply missed as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his three children, John P. Fischer III of Ambler, PA, Michael C. Fischer and his wife, Beth, of Langhorne, PA and Linda A. Onimus and her husband, Frank, of St. Augustine, FL. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Ann Osborne of Maple Glen, PA as well as his 7 loving grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, from 9:00 AM until his Funeral Service 10:00 AM at New Life Christian Church, 4 Freedom Drive, Newtown, PA with Rev. Dr. Norman J. Leve Jr. officiating at his service.

Interment will take place at Newtown Cemetery, Newtown.
