Dolores Ransford (Naimoli)
Dolores M. Ransford, formerly of New Britain, died peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2014, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown with her four children at her side. She was 87.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin W. Ransford Sr. and sister to the late Therese Nigro, Leah Molinaro, Gertrude Forbes, Josephine Taraborelli, Louise Naimoli, and Ernestina Aubry.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Onesti Naimoli.
Mrs. Ransford was a former resident of New Britain for 36 years. A consummate mother and homemaker, Dolores was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She was also a gifted sewer and crewel designer and creator. Her absolute love was spending time in the sun on the beach vacationing on Long Beach Island, New Jersey for over 40 years. Dolores was a long time member of the New Britain Baptist Church where she was active in the food larder her beloved husband Ed ran for many years. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Lori L. Christman of Fleetwood, PA, Edwin W. Ransford Jr., of Sellersville, PA, Mark S. Ransford of West Chester, PA, and Wendy S. Shegda of Mertztown, PA. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Without doubt, her family was her greatest joy and pride in her life.
The family will receive relatives and friends at a Celebration of Life on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Chester County Historical Society at 225 N High St, West Chester, PA 19380. There is free parking in the garage across the street. Attendees are asked to wear fall colors, which were her favorite colors. Her favorite Italian foods will be served.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market St. Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
