Ferenc “Fred” Nagy of Chalfont died peacefully on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Arden Courts, Warminster. He was 65.

He was the beloved husband of Dolores “Lorrie” Skiermont Nagy.

Born in Budapest Hungary he was the son of the late Ferenc and Angyal Nagy.

Fred came to the United States in 1957 and lived in Holyoke, MA before settling with his parents in Newark, NJ. He graduated from Weequaic High School and attended the University of Toledo. He served in the US Army Reserves as a medic. After his time in the military, Fred began a long, successful career in the custom rolled steel industry, beginning at H.M. Nelson Company in East Orange, NJ. He then served as the production manager for King Fifth Wheel Company in Feasterville, PA, ultimately becoming the General Manager for David Smith Steel Company (SQR Division) in Conshohocken, PA.

Seeking new challenges, Fred changed careers and spent several years as the Facilities Manager for Central Bucks School District. He became the owner and president of Chalfont Hardware Inc. in 1989, where he thoroughly enjoyed sharing his knowledge and passion for home improvement and repair with the community.

Fred loved coaching and was a coach for Lenape Valley Recreation Council for many years, coaching soccer, baseball and basketball. After his children grew up, he rekindled a love for sailing, and enjoyed spending time on the Chesapeake Bay. He and Lorrie also began to travel, and were fortunate to have the opportunity to show his sons his birthplace. Fred’s greatest joy of all was being a grandpa.

In addition to his beloved wife, Fred is survived by his loving children; Jason and Laura Nagy of Ramsey, NJ, David and Lindsay Nagy of Perkasie, and Michael and Crystal Nagy of Quakertown. He is also survived by his 6 dear grandchildren, Christie, Julia, Connor, Ryan, Kelsey and Ava.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday, evening, August 5, 2012, from 6:00 — 8:00 pm, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (Rt. 202 at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, and his Funeral Mass, Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Jude Church, 321 W. Butler Ave. Chalfont, PA 18914. Interment will be in Doylestown Cemetery, Doylestown.
