Joan Bernhardt Buxton, 90, passed away on August 31, 2012 in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. She was survived by her husband of 70 years, Irving W. Buxton, who passed away on September 4, 2012, also in Langhorne, PA. She is survived by her children Alfred E. Buxton of Needham, MA and Trudy Buxton Jacoby of Princeton, NJ, their spouses Charlotte Ravdin Buxton and Thomas Jacoby, and grandchildren Sam, Claire, Hilary and Madeline Buxton. She was the daughter of Melville and May Bernhardt. Born in Manhattan, she was a graduate of Hunter College. With her husband, she was an early member of Temple Beth Am, originally named the Reform Jewish Congregation of Merrick, in Merrick New York where she sang in the choir and served on the board. Joan loved sailing and reading. Before moving to Holland, PA, she lived in Merrick, NY and Delray Beach, FL. Irving Wolff Buxton (born Buxbaum), 95, passed away on September 4, 2012 in Langhorne, PA. He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Joan B. Buxton, who passed away on August 31, 2012. He is survived by his children Alfred E. Buxton of Needham, MA and Trudy Buxton Jacoby of Princeton, NJ, their spouses Charlotte Ravdin Buxton and Thomas Jacoby, and grandchildren Sam, Claire, Hilary and Madeline Buxton. He was the son of Nathan Buxbaum and Gertrude Wolff Buxbaum. Born in Manhattan, he was a graduate of Roanoke College and earned a masters degree in biology from New York University. Irving served in the Army Medical Air Evacuation Squadron during World War II. He worked for Ayerst Labs. Irving was active in the Boy Scouts and US Power Squadrons. He was a lifelong sailor and a ham radio operator. Irving volunteered at Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge in Florida. Before moving to Holland, PA, he lived in Merrick, NY and Delray Beach, FL.
