Heidi L. North-Fehlenberg took her last breath on September 2, 2012 at the young age of 55.

Heidi, daughter of the late Paul D. North, Sr. and Louise S. North, was born in, and lived most of her life in the Philadelphia area. She is the beloved wife of Jeffrey J. Fehlenberg with whom she shared 30 years of marriage, and the much missed “mommy” of many “fur kids” (adopted special needs animals).

After graduating from Wissahickon High School, Heidi continued her education at Bowman’s Technical Institute, HTBL Ferlach in Austria, University of Phoenix, Temple, DeVry, MCCC, Penn State, the Gemological Institute of America and the Academy of Competitive Intelligence.

She was a member of the Lower Gwynedd Green Committee, volunteered for the Greyhound Rescue and Comfort Caring Canines, and contributed to Womnaye & Otuh’an, a humanitarian relief effort that benefits Native Americans in need.

An active member of the Native American community, she walked the Red Road (followed native American traditions) and loved to dance at powwows and gatherings and help where needed in PA, NJ, NY, DE, WV, OK and on reservations in NJ and SD.

Heidi and her husband embraced creation and the outdoors and turned their property into a registered wildlife habitat. Her Seneca Indian name, Aweeyayusooxweexkwe, translates into “Woman Walking With Animals” and reflects her passion for all creation.

Heidi is survived by her husband: Jeffrey J. Fehlenberg, her brother: Paul North Jr. and his wife Marie, and niece Loren and numerous cousins, six adopted “fur kids” and many “brothers and sisters” in various native communities.

Heidi’s funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8th at the Pleasantville United Church of Christ,3424 Limekiln Pike, Chalfont, PA 189145, the church were they were married 30 years ago. Heidi’s family will receive condolences beginning at 10:30am, her Funeral Services at 11:30am. Interment will be in the Church cemetery, fellowship immediately after the interment. Her native brothers and sisters are encouraged to wear regalia. Native customs will be observed.
