Nicholas A. Pico, age 70, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center.

Nick was born on March 15, 1942 in Philadelphia, and was a resident of Richboro for 38 years. Nick joined the teamsters in 1964 at the age of 22. He began his career at Kramer Bros, then Transcon where he was the Chief Shop Steward. In 1988, Nick became a business agent for Teamsters Local 107. Nick lived his dream of being a business agent, until he became the Vice President of Local 107. Nick served his position as Vice President, until he retired in June 2000. Throughout his career as a Teamster he worked endless hours devoting days, nights and many weekends so that he could serve his teamster family with the passion that he had for the union. Nick enjoyed spending time with his first mate on their boat and in life, Cathy, his loving wife. Nick was his happiest when he was surrounded by his grandchildren. Nick loved to golf, and spent time away at their mountain get- away. Nick was a family man, and truly enjoyed having a good laugh with his family. Nick will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Devoted and loving husband for 49 years of Cathleen (nee Lyons) Pico, he was the devoted father of Kimberly O’Donnell (Jim) of Richboro and Thomas Pico (Chrissy) of Richboro. He was the loving grandfather of Katie, Stephanie, Lindsay, Jimmy, Morgan and Sophia. Loving son of Edith “Dolly” Pico and the late Nicholas Pico. Dear brother of Stephen Pico (Elena) and Suzann Smith (Bill). Loving brother-in-law of Marianne Lyons, Joe Lyons (Pat), Vincent Lyons (Pat), Michael Lyons (Elaine), Patrick Lyons (Kim), Gertie Lyons, Margie Dent (Mike). He is preceded in death by Kathy Pico, Stephen Pico, Nicholas “Nicky” Pico, Marty Lyons and Thomas Lyons.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings on Wednesday eve. from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Thursday from 8:15 to 9:15AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road) Richboro, PA 18954 and to his Funeral Mass on Thursday 10:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966.

Entombment at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to American Diabetes Association of Greater Phila. And Southeastern NJ 150 Monument Rd. Suite 100 Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
