Ida D. Danks, of Holland and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Buckingham Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was 92.

Ida was the beloved wife of the late Everett E.”Bud” Danks for over 60 years.

Born in Philadelphia and the second oldest of eight children, she was a daughter of the late Carmine and Lucia Sinni Matricardi.

Ida grew up in Philadelphia, and after 8th grade attended the former St. Francis Xavier Business School, where she trained as a bookkeeper. However, Ida made her talent in tailoring into a lifelong career working for Quartermasters during World War II making uniforms for the soldiers. After her daughter was born, Ida concentrated on taking care of her family, but continued to work in various capacities in her field, including being employed by Louis Goldsmith, a vintage clothing line for men, and After Six Tuxedos.

Ida was a member of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia for 52 years. After moving to Holland to be closer to her family, she attended St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church.

She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. Ida enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and hand crafts, and will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Ida is survived by her daughter: Joyce M. Prato, and her late husband Carmine A. of Holland; her grandchildren: Robert E. Prato, and his wife Wendy of Richboro, Michael A. Prato, and his wife Theresa Casey of Philadelphia, and Lynne C. Prato, and her husband Scott Dwyer of Furlong; two sisters: Helen Guardiani and Lucille “Lucie” Scott; her great grandchildren: Anthony, Maria, Christina, and Ava Theresa; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Danks, Richard Matricardi, Elizabeth Brunelli, and two siblings that passed away as toddlers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 9:00 a.m. until her Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.

Her interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Bede the Venerable Church Capital Campaign Fund, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.
