Leonard R. Berk of Warminster, PA died on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown. He was 93.

He was the beloved husband of Bernice K. Willing Berk for 59 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Bernard and Rose Garfinkel Berkowitz.

Mr. Berk was a resident of Warminster for the past 22 years and formerly lived in Northeast Philadelphia. He graduated from Temple University, Class of 1942, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and went on to receive his master’s degree in Education. Mr. Berk was an active member of the Temple Alumni Association. He was a proud Army veteran having served during World War II in the 25th. Infantry Division. Mr. Berk enjoyed all sports, especially baseball. He was the founder of Comly Boys Club better known as “Berk Ball” and coached baseball for 25years. He was a family oriented man who enjoyed the special times spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his three sons, Robert L. Berk and his wife, Carol, of Erie, IL, Richard B. Berk and his wife, Linda, of Warwick, PA and Kenneth E. Berk and his wife, Teri, of Holland, PA. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Palmere of Langhorne, PA, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 27, 2012, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Peace at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 W. County Line Road, Feasterville, PA.

Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
