Loretta T. Bulman McLaughlin passed on to eternal life on Friday November 2, 2012 after a brief illness, she was 97.
After the death of her husband, Joseph J. McLaughlin in 1968 she went to work at Wellington Management Company where she worked from 1969 until her retirement at the age of 83. She was an active parishioner of St. Isaac Jogues Church as a counter and member of the Jolly Jogues. She was well traveled and enjoyed visiting sites and friends throughout the world.
Loretta was born on March 20, 1915, daughter of the late Thomas Bulman and Nellie Fay. Her mother died in 1920 and her father, Tom kept the “Bulman girls” ranging from the ages of 8 to 3 together. In a period of time when attending high school was rare for women, Loretta wanted to go to high school. Loretta took all, of her birthday and Christmas money and enrolled in John W. Hallahan Catholic High School for girls graduating in 1932 having stayed in school during the greatly depression. She worked for her family Plumbing and Heating business as the accountant until teaming up with her husband in his accounting business.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. McLaughlin and her son the Reverend Robert A. (Fr. Mac) McLaughlin and her sister, Margaret Hogarty. She is survived by her devoted children, the Reverend Joseph J. McLaughlin, Thomas F. McLaughlin, Loretta M. McLaughlin, her granddaughters Lisa McLaughlin and Michelle Smith (Michael); her great —grandsons Max and Nicky, her sisters, Helen Birkenstock and Agnes Tapp and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings Thursday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Chapel of St. Louise de Marillac at St. Vincent de Paul Church 654 Hatboro Rd. Richboro and on Friday at St. Basil the Great Church, 2300 Kimberton Rd. Kimberton PA 19442 (FOR GPS USE 2300 KIMBERTON ROAD, PHOENIXVILLE, PA 19460) from 11:00am until her Con-celebrated Funeral Mass 1:00pm. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be donated to the Fr. Mac Debt Retirement/Parish Hall fund at St. Basil the Great Church, 2300 Kimberton Rd. P.O.
