Edward J. Armstrong passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at his home. He was 85.

Edward was the beloved husband of Dolores “Dee” Armstrong for 57 years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Edward and Rose Campbell Armstrong. One of ten children, he was preceded in death by seven siblings.

Edward proudly served our country in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Ed loved to work in construction, and his career lasted for over forty years. He retired after ten years of service as superintendent at J.J. White Inc. in Philadelphia.

Ed was a member of Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church in Montgomeryville for 25 years. He enjoyed gardening and yard work. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by his son: Edward J. Armstrong III, husband of Rosalie of Sellersville; his daughters: Dolores “Dee” May, wife of David of Morristown, NJ and Colleen Stirling of Willow Grove; his brothers: James Armstrong and Jack Armstrong; and seven grandchildren: Christine, Katie, Teresa, Jessica, Amy, Ryan, and Mackenzie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 8:30 am to 10:15 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, and to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd., Montgomeryville, PA on Thursday, December 6.

Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Ed’s family asks that contributions be made to SNAP Inc., a non profit organization that supports athletic programs for special needs children. SNAP was dear to Ed because it directly supports his grandson Ryan, who has autism. SNAP Inc., 10 Stoney Brook Way, Morristown, NJ 07960
