Margaret E. Boorse of Newtown, PA died peacefully surrounded by her loving sons at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA on Saturday, January 19, 2013. She was 87.
Margaret was the loving wife of the late John Boorse Sr.
Born in Lorain, OH, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Florence M. Smith Courter and sister of the late William Worthington, Harry Courter Jr. and Sarah Getz.
Margaret moved to Penndel, PA when she was 3 months. She graduated in 1943 from Langhorne Middletown High School. On January 31, 1948, Margaret married the first love of her life, John and they settled in Hulmeville before the arrival of second and third loves of her life were born. In 1985, Margaret and John moved to Newtown. She worked as a Bookkeeper for Nabisco Baking Company and eventually for Rice’s Sale and Country Market. Margaret enjoyed trips to the casino with family and friends and also times spent at local Bingo games. She also enjoyed perfecting her gardening skills and reading, but most of all she enjoyed creating everlasting memories with her husband and sons. Margaret will be sorely missed by everyone who has come to know and love her.
She is survived by her loving and devoted sons John Boorse Jr. of Newtown and Robert H. Boorse of Langhorne, PA. She is also survived be several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM and on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 10:00AM until her Funeral Services 11:00AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road, (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to either the Associated Services for the Blind, 919 Walnut St. Suite 410, Philadelphia, PA 19107 or the American Cancer Society, 700 Horizon Circle Suite 201, Chalfont, PA 18914.
