Marie B. Montemarano died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Manor Care in Yardley, PA after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 85.
Marie was the beloved wife of the late William J. Montemarano.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosaria Fontana.
Marie was a former resident of Brooklyn, NY where she worked for many years for the United States Department of the Navy. In 1996, she moved to Langhorne, PA and was an active volunteer at St. Mary Medical Center.
Marie is survived by her dearest children, William J. Montemarano and his wife Alison of Yardley, PA, Diane Montemarano of Oxford, CT and Susan Montemarano of Staten Island, NY. In addition, she is survived by her three cherished grandsons, William, Michael and Andrew Montemarano, her two brothers, Anthony and Salvatore Fontana and her sister Francesca Sheehan. She was also predeceased by her sisters Carmella D’Amato and Josephine Tarone.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings, Monday, January 28th from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA and her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 29th at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA. Interment will be private at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
