Eleanor E. Hansen Povey of Newtown died gracefully on Wednesday January 30, 2013 at Buckingham Valley Nursing Center.
She was 96.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the devoted daughter of the late John S. and Louisa Lodderhose Hansen and the beloved wife of the late Harry E. Povey, and mother of the late John T. Povey.

Eleanor lived most of her life in Philadelphia, was educated in Camden, New Jersey and formerly worked for the Police and Fire Health Association. For the past 30 years, she was a resident of Newtown, living at Gloria Dei Plaza. In her early years Eleanor was very active at Gloria Dei Plaza, she was a talented crafter. Her hands worked like magic with a needle and thread, her knitting and crocheting where works of art. She also made dolls. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

Eleanor is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harry Povey and his wife Michele she is also survived by her 2 granddaughters and their husbands Tracy McGovern and her husband Keven, and Kelly Plexico and her husband Rich, and a loving great granddaughter Alexis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service Friday February 1, 2013 at 10:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road, (at Holland Rd) Richboro, PA 18954 where friends may call from 9:00am until her service at 10:00am. Interment will be in East Cedar Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia.
