Joan A. Godfrey died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Neshaminy Manor Home in Warrington. She was 82.

Joan was the beloved wife of the late Salem B. Godfrey.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Kathryn W. Gallagher Long.

Joan was a former resident of Philadelphia, Hatboro and Neshaminy Falls in North Wales before recently moving to Neshaminy Manor Home. She was a Receptionist with the Hatboro Horsham School District for over 20 years until her retirement. Joan enjoyed her family, many friends, active social life and, most of all, dancing. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.

Joan is survived by her children and their spouses, Catherine M. and Dennis Slattery of Pawleys Island, SC, Patricia A. and Harry Rieth of Doylestown, Thomas B. and Joyce Godfrey of Jamison and William J. and Stefanie Godfrey of Ocean View, NJ. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings, Friday February 8th from 6:00-8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain and on Saturday, February 9th from 9:00am until her Funeral Mass 10:00am at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd., North Wales, PA 19425.

Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

The family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to the staff at Neshaminy Manor Home Nursing Care, D1 Unit. They are dedicated, caring, compassionate people who took great care of our mother. We are forever grateful to them.
