Faith Buhler Dunlop passed away on February 9, 2013 at Southampton Estates, Southampton, PA, formerly of Teaneck, NJ. She was 88 years old.
Wife of the late Henry H. “Harry” Dunlop who predeceased her in 2004, she is survived by her children Henry C. Dunlop of New York City, Alison D. Rudolf of Huntingdon Valley, PA (Joseph), John W. Dunlop of New York City and Robert S. Dunlop of Jamison, PA (Gretchen), two sisters Grace Sternitzke and Joyce Beacham, 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Faith was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and graduated as Class President and Salutatorian of the 1942 class of Girl’s High School, Brooklyn. Although she earned a scholarship to Mt. Holyoke College she chose to stay with her family during the tumultuous days of World War II working as a secretary in Manhattan. Not too long after the end of the war she met her beloved Harry through mutual friends at Classon Ave. Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn. For the next 65 years her life was devoted to the care and nurture of her family which she and her husband raised in Teaneck, N.J. She was a life-long Church member with Classon Ave. Presbyterian Church, the Community Churches of Teaneck and Glen Rock and North & Southampton Reformed Church on whose behalf she performed many tasks. Somehow she also found time to volunteer for Englewood Hospital and Starfish of Teaneck.
Her family joins with her many friends in giving thanks for the life of this remarkable woman and asks that anyone wishing to honor her memory do so with an act of compassion in the world similar to the countless kind acts she performed during her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 12:00, Noon at the North & Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Road, Churchville, PA 18966, where her family will receive condolences from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to memorial fund of the North & Southampton Reformed Church at the above address Community Church of Glen Rock, 354 Rock Road, Glen Rock, NJ 07452.
