John L. Ziemba of Yardley and formerly of Feasterville, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, surrounded by his family at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 78.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. Shea Ziemba for 53 years.
Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth Ziemba and brother of the late Andrew, Edward, and Albert Ziemba.
Mr. Ziemba was a proud veteran of the Navy. John served with the Pennsylvania State Police from 1957 until 1963 when he went to work as a Bucks County Detective. After a few years of retirement, John was drawn back to law enforcement and joined the Langhorne Borough Police department in 2001 as a Civilian Staff Assistant.
In addition to law enforcement and raising his family with his wife Patricia, John enjoyed spending time building race cars and caring for wildlife. He was an excellent friend to the Forgotten Cats Organization, where he helped them raise funds for displaced cats and also caring for some of the cats while a new home was being found for them.
