James C. Greenwood, Sr., 91, passed on peacefully on February 25th at his home in the company of his wife and family members as was his wish.

Jim was the beloved husband of 69 years to Alice Gibson Greenwood. He and Mrs. Greenwood went sky diving at the age of 77.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Mr. Greenwood served as a B-24 pilot during the Army Air Force in World War II. He and his wife Alice, a United States Marine, were married in their military uniforms. They had known each other since kindergarten. Jim was a successful real estate broker and developer and contributed to his community serving as a Northampton Township Supervisor and a Northampton Township Zoning Hearing Board member, President of The Northampton Township Fire Company and was a member of the Trevose Heights Rescue Squad and the Feasterville Businessmen’s Association. Following his retirement at age 55, Mr. Greenwood continued to serve his community as Fire Chief, Emergency Management Agency Coordinator, Fire Marshall and was elected as a District Justice. He counseled inmates at the Bucks County Corrections Center as a Volunteer in Teaching Alternatives. Jim was an avid genealogist and completed the New York Times crossword puzzle daily until his final days. Joyful and vibrant in life he faced his death with courage, dignity and a loving heart.

Jim is survived by his loving children and their spouses, Alice and David DelPizzo, James and Christina Greenwood, Jonathan and Gretchen Greenwood and William and Sandra Greenwood. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Christy DelPizzo, Brian DelPizzo and his wife Angela, Patrick DelPizzo and his wife Viviane, Robert McClure and his wife Christina, Laura Greenwood, Kathryn Greenwood, Jonny Greenwood, and Summer Greenwood, and his five great-grandchildren.

Services and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers he requested that contributions be made in his name to the Bucks County SPCA, P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931.
