James J. Waters Sr. of Newtown died peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 84.

James was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor M. Ryan Waters.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Mary Flynn Waters, father of the late James J. “AJ” Waters Jr. and brother of the late John Waters, Margaret Rodgers and Rose Waters.

James was a former resident of Churchville before moving to Newtown in 1988. He was the former owner of the Holland Pub in Holland from 1980 until 2001. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army and in his leisure enjoyed participating in the stock market. He will be remembered for the quality times that he spent and supported his family.

James is survived by his four children, Peggy Waters of Newtown, William Waters of Port St. Lucie, FL, Peter Waters and his wife, Julie, of Doylestown, and Eleanor Hendricks and her husband, Bruce, of Bartlett, IL. He is also survived by his six loving grandchildren and his sister Mary Seifert of Philadelphia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday evening, April 2, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 9:00 AM until his Funeral Service 10:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road) Richboro, PA 18954.

Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.
