Joan Katherine (Schneider) Fox of Newtown died Friday October 3, 2014 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 76.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Joan was the daughter of Joseph and Irma (Stasz) Schneider.

Joan was a lifelong resident of Bucks County. She was a graduate of Jamestown, PA High School and East Stroudsburg University, and taught in the Neshaminy School District. Joan enjoyed equestrian activities, gardening, knitting and nature as well as spending time with her grandson. She had a deep devotion for animals and donated too many local pet shelters. Joan will be truly missed by her family, companion dog Josie and all who had the pleasure to know her.

Joan is survived by her daughters; Mary Ann Fox of Newtown and Cathy Jo Sitko and husband Gary of North Wales. She is also survived by her sister, Rita (Schneider) Ryburn and husband Joseph of Mercer, PA, grandson Gary Sitko, Jr., father of her children Eugene R. Fox and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, October 9th from 9:30 am until her Memorial Service 10:30 am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
