Emma “Lynne” Sorrentino of Newtown died Friday, October 3, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 90.

Emma was the beloved wife of the late Romeo J. Sorrentino.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Stella Tapp Carl, the sister of the late George Carl and Naomi Calhoon, grandmother of the late Brian Hennessy Jr. and mother-in-law of the late Rose Hennessy.

Emma was a former resident of Holland before moving to Newtown over 25 years ago. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Andrew in Newtown. In her leisure, she enjoyed traveling the United States, Europe and Canada and attending the theater and casinos. Emma lived for her husband and family and will be deeply missed by everyone who came to know her.

Emma is survived by her children and their spouses; Joseph Neal and Lynn Hennessy of Quakertown, Brian Carl Hennessy of Elkton, MD and Linda and Jerry Alampi of Richboro. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 8:30-10:15am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro and follow by her Funeral Mass 11:00am in the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors, C/O a chapter of the donor’s choice.
