Charles R. Pumroy of Doylestown, died Wednesday April 24, 2013 after a long and courageous illness. He was 81.

Born on May 6, 1931 in Altus, OK, he was the son of the late Buena (Pettyjohn) and Clarence (Doc) Pumroy. He was the father of the late Gregory W. Pumroy and brother of the late Melvin Pumroy and Dorthea Pigg.

He was a proud veteran having served during the Korean Conflict with the United States Marine Corps and was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. After Korea, he was discharged from the Marines and joined the United States Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer.

Charles enjoyed flying, hunting, sailing and flea marketing.

He is survived by his daughters Angeli Francescangeli ( Victor Goffredo) of Telford and Sharon Rogers and her husband Robert of Lansdale. Dear grandfather of; Heather, Rachel, Kyle and Taylor and 2 great grandsons.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday May 3, 2013 at 11:15 am at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. Newtown, PA 18940 for his Graveside Services and Military honors, which will be held promptly at 11:30 am.
