James T. Dacey, of North Cape May, NJ died on Friday, April 26, 2013, at Chandler Hall Hospice. He was 88.

He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Elizabeth H. McGinly Dacey.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James and Catherine Gilroy Dacey.

Jim graduated from West Catholic HS in 1942 and attended LaSalle and St Joseph’s Universities. He was a longtime resident of Levittown and parishioner of Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. He lived in Northern Virginia before retiring to Cape May where he was a member of St John of God Neumann Parish.

Jim served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy Armed Guard during World War II, in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. He enjoyed his social groups and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and the Moose Lodge. His career as a Cost Analyst in the defense industry with Philco Ford and Page Communications, took him to many parts of the world.

Jim had a nickname for everyone but his personal favorite was ‘Coach’. He loved coaching CYO basketball, baseball, football and was an early founder of the Levittown Western Little League.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children, James and Janette Dacey of Doylestown, Michael and Kathie Dacey of Wrightstown, Steve and Cindy Dacey of Langhorne, Denise Dacey of Langhorne, Jack and Judy Dacey of Morrisville, Nance and Mike Dunn of Ashburn, VA, Beth Dacey of Manassas, VA, and his sister Lorraine Lafferty of Philadelphia. He was also blessed with 12 loving grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings, Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 9:00-10:15 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road, (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and to his Funeral Mass 11:00 am at the Church of St. Andrew, Newtown. His interment will be held privately at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Chandler Hall Hospice, 99 Barclay Street, Newtown, PA 18940.
