Otto Vincent Hierholzer of Warwick, PA died peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was 87.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles F. Sr. and Jenny Campbell Hierholzer and father of the late Vincent M. Hierholzer. He was predeceased by his 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Mr. Hierholzer was a resident of Warwick for 2 years, previously, Doylestown for 17 years. He was a proud Navy veteran having served during World War II from 1942 to 1945.
Otto was extremely loving and happy in all of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all of the stray pets they brought home. His dedication to his quadriplegic son, Vincent, of 29 years was remarkable. He loved his profession in the clothing industry, and his favorite saying was, “Never had a bad day!” Otto prayed to the Lord to give him his strength.
He is survived by his three loving children, Regina M. Hierholzer of Chalfont, Richard A. Hierholzer of Newportville, and Diane M. Hierholzer of Warwick, his three grandchildren, Nicole Diane Bowman, Kyle Vincent Hierholzer and his wife, Lisa, Brandon Alan Hierholzer, and 6 great grandchildren, Ryan Anthony Bowman Jr., Kyle Vincent Hierholzer Jr., Maura Jean Bowman, Harley Marie Hierholzer, Cooper Thomas Hierholzer and Nicholas James McDonald. He is also survived by Jean Hierholzer, the mother of his children.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, from 8:30 AM until his Funeral Mass 9:30 AM at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison, PA 18929.
Interment with military honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Doylestown Hospital Hospice, 595 W. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
