Andrew J. Cornell “Jack” died peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2013, at Spring Village at Floral Vale in Lower Makfield. He was 86.
Born on the family farm in Richboro, he was the beloved husband of Anna M. Southwell Cornell and son of the late Clarence T. and Elmira Watson Cornell and the devoted father of the late Thomas Cornell.
Jack, as he was known to family and friends, was a resident of Richboro for 32 years before moving to Wrightstown for 21 years and Buckingham Springs for 8 years. Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served in the South Pacific during World War II. Jack was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local # 542 for over 65 years and retired from James D. Morrissey, Inc. in 1989 after 40 years of dedicated service, having worked on most of the major highway projects in the Bucks County area.
Jack attended school in Richboro and graduated from Richboro High School. He married Anna in 1952 and they began their life together on the family farm in Richboro. He enjoyed growing Christmas Trees for many years providing many families with Christmas memories. Families came back year after year to purchase because of their perfect shape. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted daughters; Donna Cote and her husband David and Robin Johnson. He is also survived by his 5 loving grandchildren, Brian Cote, Daniel Cote, Heather White, Joseph Linsky and James Johnson and 3 great grandchildren, Rayhan, Owen and Cassandra.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, from 9:30 am until his Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro.
Interment with Military Honors will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, PA.
In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Bucks County S. P. C. A., P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931.
