Mary C. Richards, of Doylestown, passed away on May 18, 2013. She was 80.
She was the beloved wife of Otto Richards for almost 60 years. Born in Elmira, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Beatrice MacDonald Daly and sister of the late Joseph Daly, Monica Nailen and Loretta Hughes.
Mary earned her high school diploma from the Elmira Free Academy in Elmira, NY. She married Otto in 1954, and graduated in 1955 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Elmira College. Soon after, she had her first child and stayed at home to raise and care for her growing family.
In her younger years, Mary enjoyed golfing. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, and was an avid reader. Most of all, Mary enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her children: William Richards, husband of Joanne of Lititz, PA, Kathryn Hinkle, wife of Delbert of Hatfield, PA, Julie Musante, wife of Thomas of Somers, NY, Anne Morris, wife of Michael of Ashland, MA, Mark Richards, husband of Lorraine of Western Springs, IL and Mary Richards of Doylestown, PA; her brother: Robert Daly of Palmyra, NY; her sister: Margaret Schornstheimer of Elmira, NY; 11 grandchildren: Mark, Adam, Brian, Kaitlin, Thomas, Grace, Matthew, Andrew, Jonathan, Erin and Michael: and her great granddaughter: Kathryn.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901 and from 9:00 a.m. until her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from St. Maria Goretti Parish, 1601 Derstine Rd., Hatfield, PA 19440.
Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
