Harry C. Fromuth Jr. of Trevose, PA died peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2013, at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown. He was 86.
He was the beloved husband of Esther Jamison Fromuth for 64 years.
Born in Abington, PA, he was the son of the late Harry Charles and Ella Leedom Fromuth.
Mr. Fromuth was a resident of the Feasterville and Trevose area for the past 63 years. He graduated from Richboro High School in 1944 and later went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry after attending night school at Drexel University, Class of 1962. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Guam during World War II. He was employed for 37 years as a research chemist with Rohm and Haas Company until his retirement in 1987. He was active in supporting Boy Scout Troop #78 and was also a coach for Lower Southampton Township baseball. Mr. Fromuth also served on the Consistory of the Feasterville Community Reformed Church. In his leisure time he enjoyed working with the flowers in his gardens, traveling, and going on family camping trips. He was interested in current events and always ready to discuss and debate his ideas. Mr. Fromuth was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.
He was a devoted family oriented man who will be sadly missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his three children, Richard K. Fromuth and his wife, Marion Cavallaro of Yardley, PA, Robert C. Fromuth and his wife, Michelle Wolfe, of Landenburg, PA, and Mary L. Alford and her husband, David, of Plymouth Township, PA. He is also survived by his two sisters, Eleanor Clayton of Southampton, PA, Katherine Heritage of Holland, PA and his eight loving grandchildren; Maggie, Christopher, Michael (Kathryn), Kelly, Robin, Robert, Patrick and Matthew.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 1:00 PM until his Memorial Service at 2:00 PM at North & Southampton Reformed Church, 1386 Bristol Road, Churchville, PA 18966. Interment will take place at Churchville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to North & Southampton Reformed Church at the above address.
