Michael J McGowan Sr, of Philadelphia, PA died on Friday, May 3, 2013, at Abington Hospice at Luther Park, with his family by his side. He was 87.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of Agnes Spencer McGowan for the past 62 years.

Mike was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. Mike was a resident of Southampton, PA for the past 30 years.

He was employed by US Veterans Administration, retiring from his final assignment in Washington, DC in 1984.

In addition to his beloved wife Agnes, he is survived by his sons, Michael, Mark, Spencer, and his sister Marge Marsh.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend A Celebration of Life in his honor on Friday June 14, 11:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro.

Interment will follow at 2:00pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Disabled Veterans Foundation
