Catherine M. O’Neill Butwel of Jamison, PA died peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 84.

She was the loving wife of Henry E. “Hank” Butwel for 63 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna M. Gannon and sister of the late John McVey, Rev. Matthew McVey, O.S.F.S., William McVey, Juliana McVey Lomis, James O’Neill, Robert O’Neill, and Margaret O’Neill Whatley.

Mrs. Butwel was a resident of Jamison for the past 3 years. She formerly resided in Richboro and Holland for many years. Catherine and her husband enjoyed spending their winters in Lost LLakes, Hobe Sound, FL and the summer months at Lake Naomi, Pocono Pines. In her leisure time she enjoyed golfing, playing scrabble and cards, and working on crossword puzzles. Being very family oriented, she especially enjoyed the times spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Susan A. Goodwin and her husband, Daniel, of Plumsteadville, PA, and Nancy C. Devlin and her husband, Thomas, of Jamison, PA. She is also survived by her two sisters, Marie Gibbons and her husband, Paul, and Ann Marasheski, her two sisters-in-law, Marie McVey and Madeline O’Neill, and her five loving grandchildren, Steven, Michele, Lisa, Catherine “Katie, and Christopher as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings on Tuesday evening, June 11, 2013, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison, PA 18929.

Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Cyril of Jerusalem Building Fund at the above address.
