Catherine “Cass” Marie Guenkel of Feasterville died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at her residence. She was 89.

Cass was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Guenkel, Jr.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Reilly O’Brien, mother of the late Daniel Guenkel, sister of the late Michael, Thomas, Joseph , Charles, William, Francis, George, Patrick O’Brien and Margaret Burlile, Mary Moore and Theresa Schanz and grandmother of the late James E. Bowen, III.

Cass was a former resident of Philadelphia before moving to Feasterville in 2003. She was a former communicant of Ascension of Our Lord Church in Philadelphia and volunteered her time and talents as a librarian at their parish school and sewed the curtains for church. Cass will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.

Cass is survived by her dearest children and their spouses, Edward J. , III and Frances Guenkel of Hadden Heights, NJ, Catherine Bowen of Quakertown and Maryann and Francis Mullin of Feasterville. She also survived by her grandchildren, Amy, Christine, Patricia, Edward, Heather, Francis, Megan, Michelle and her 9 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday, June 20th from 9:30am until her Funeral Service 10:30am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
